Trading Post, 17 Grams, Robin's Nest and the Cathedral cloisters cafe lead 12 Chichester cafes, with hours, dogs and hygiene ratings checked 26 October 2026.

The Chichester cafes most people land on are Trading Post on South Street, with its roof garden; 17 Grams on East Street for brunch; Robin’s Nest, tucked off East Street in Baffins Court; and Cloisters Kitchen & Garden inside the Cathedral. Out of town, the Beach Café at West Wittering is the big name. Every entry checked against the venue’s own site on 26 October 2026.

We have not visited these cafes for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry sets out what the cafe says about itself and what it publishes about hours, dogs and booking, then adds the public record: the Food Standards Agency hygiene rating and, where there is one, an award or a listing in a published guide. Hours change with the seasons, so check before a late visit.

How we chose

These are the Chichester cafes people search for and can check: the independents named in published round-ups such as The Great Sussex Way’s coffee guide, the cafes at the city’s best-known places to visit, and the out-of-town cafes people drive to. Every place has a food hygiene rating of 5 and publishes its own details online, and none had posted a closure notice. We left out cafes whose websites have lapsed or been taken over, or that publish nothing we could check. The facts come from each cafe’s own website, the Food Standards Agency and the sources linked in each entry. Run a place that should be here, or spot something that has changed?
