Cassons at Tangmere is the area's Michelin Guide pick: 13 Chichester restaurants and pubs, with menu prices, hours and hygiene ratings checked 24 October 2026.
The Chichester restaurants most people land on are Cassons in Tangmere, the area’s only Michelin Guide entry; Purchases on North Street; and Masala City, a 2026 English Curry Awards winner. For a country pub meal, The Fox Goes Free at Charlton and The Crab & Lobster at Sidlesham are the usual names. Every entry checked against the venue’s own site on 24 October 2026.
We have not eaten at these places for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry sets out what the restaurant says about itself and what it publishes about prices, hours and booking, then adds the public record: the Michelin Guide and the Food Standards Agency hygiene rating. Prices come from menus online on 24 October and change often.

How we chose
These are the Chichester restaurants people search for and can check: the one Michelin Guide listing, long-running independents, an award winner, the country pubs known for food, and the national names that make up much of the city centre’s restaurant trade. Every place has a food hygiene rating of 5, and none had posted a closure notice. We left out venues whose websites have lapsed or that publish no hours or menus. The facts come from each venue’s own website, the Michelin Guide and the Food Standards Agency. Run a place that should be here, or spot something that has changed?
